PUBLIC INVITATION TO COMPANIES FROM THE WESTERN BALKANS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EXPORT SUPPORT PROGRAMME FOR FRESH, FROZEN AND PROCESSED FRUITS AND VEGETABLES TO THE UK MARKET IN 2023

The British Serbian Chamber of Commerce, an organisation aimed at the promotion of trade, bilateral ties and economic cooperation between the United Kingdom and Serbia, announces a competition for the selection of 10 companies in the field of production or export of fresh, frozen and processed fruits and vegetables to exhibit at the International Food and Drink Event (IFE) 2023 fair in London, 20-23 March 2023.
The mentoring program for selected SMEs and b2b meetings with the UK importers, distributors and buyers as part of the IFE 2023 exhibition will be organized through the joint regional FAO-EBRD Project “Stimulating Diversification of Agri-food Exports in the Balkans and Eastern Europe”, aiming to strengthen agri-food companies’ competitiveness and access to foreign markets.
Who is the competition intended for?
If you are the founder, owner or on a management position in a company that produces fruit, vegetables or their derived products, we invite you to apply for this open call. We are offering everyone a comprehensive introduction to the UK fruit and vegetable market, which will be publicly available live or recorded for anyone interested. In addition, we offer the selected F&V SMEs complete support in the preparation and realisation of exports, sales in the UK through positioning and placement in online channels, including mentoring sessions on exporting and meeting all regulations and conditions, organisation of forwarding and transport, label redesign, online listing on food sales platforms in cooperation with top-notch UK food consultants.
General conditions of the competition
The following have the right to participate in the competition:
• Entrepreneurs and companies registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Serbia.
• Business entities with all tax and contribution obligations settled.
• Business entities without a pronounced ban on activities in the previous three years.
At the same time, you need to fulfil the following conditions:
• You perform activities in the segment of production of fresh, frozen and processed fruits and vegetables;
• You have a product already marketed in the country, which is ready to be exported abroad;
• You have your own production;
• Your product was produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Serbia;
• You meet all requirements regarding food safety and quality (minimum HACCP standard).

Notes
The right to participate in the competition does not include products that are in their testing phase and for which a certain amount of time is needed until the final product is ready to be placed on the market. At the same time, the activity does not support the development of new products.
The application is considered complete if all mandatory fields are filled. In case of incomplete data, the BSCC reserves the right not to consider the application, thereby losing the right to participate in the further selection process. It is not necessary to submit any product sample during the application phase.
In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, collected data is stored only for the purpose of carrying out the activity and is deleted after its completion. In order to realise and promote the activity, we reserve the right to publish the names of 10 companies that have passed the final selection. The list of selected companies and products will be published no later than 1 March on the BSCC website or in the social media.
