About Gala Concert at Silosi Belgrade
Opera event, "OperArt" Gala concert called "Alliances", which combines culture, art and technology, will be held in Belgrade's Silos on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. Serbian soprano Marija Jelić, South American mezzo-soprano Nancy Fabiola Herera, Italian conductor Giana Frata and the Serbian Symphony Orchestra will create an intimate and mystical atmosphere for the audience. At this unique concert, these two artists will sing the most beautiful duets and arias from opera literature by Verdi, Puccini, Maskagni, Bizet, Giordano, Offenbach, and others.
The ambience of the cultural centre Silosi on the banks of the Danube will introduce a special tone that emphasises intellectual pleasure and spiritual experience. This is the first time that an opera concert will be performed in this city setting. Such an innovative event provides the audience with a unique experience and a fresh perspective on opera.
Marija Jelić, one of our most outstanding opera artists of the younger generation, performed in over 15 countries, including performances with Placid Domingo, Elina Garanca, Jose Kuro and others.
Nancy Fabiola Herrera performs in leading world theatres such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Berlin Opera, and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Leading world media call her the "Carmen of the 21st century" after her great success in that role at the Metropolitan Opera.
In many prestigious collaborations, such as the Berliner Simphoniker, the Orchestra del Teatro dell'Opera from Rome, and the Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli from Bari, Gianna Frata was the first female conductor ever. Gianna's wide symphonic repertoire ranges from Vivaldi to contemporary composers. In 2009, she received the title of "Knight of the Republic of Italy" for her international career.
