BSCC Serbian Trade Mission Visit to Vinarija Aleksic

BSCC Serbian Trade Mission Visit to Vinarija Aleksic

Yesterday we completed our day at beautiful Vinarija Aleksic in Vranje where three sisters and founders of the vineyard Dragana, Maja and Marija showed us how they turned their passion for wine into a hugely successful business.

Vinarija Aleksic is the first and currently the only vinery in the Western Balkans led by women. It has 14 different premium quality wines – all well known. It uses the newest wine production technology which enables them to produce more than 750.000 litres of white, red, and rosé wine.

The wines of the Aleksic vineyard have so far been awarded 85 medals for quality, while the Aleksić sisters are the winners of the award for best national producer by AWC from Vienna, the Žena Zmaj award for Entrepreneurship, the SAM Award for Business Venture of the Year, and the finalist of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

We enjoyed their premium products and heard first-hand how they managed to become very successful in a short time both domestically and internationally.
