BSCC gets on board of HydroFLEX train during COP26 in Glasgow

The BSCC had an opportunity to get on board of HydroFLEX, the world's first tri-mode battery, electric and hydrogen train, which was showcased during the COP26 - UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

We were given a behind-the-scenes look at the innovative technology that will help UK's rail reach Net Zero.

"The University of Birmingham and Vanguard have worked with our industrial partners to develop the UK’s first mainline-approved hydrogen train. In addition we are developing designs for locomotives and for refuelling infrastructure. This technology can deliver modern, emissions-free railways quickly and cost effectively and we hope to be able to support the railways of South East Europe in the near future" says Alex Burrows, Director of Enterprise & Innovation at BCRRE and CEO of Vanguard Sustainable Transport Solutions.
